Do you truly feel on top of things? How is your thought life? Do you know who God is, what your identity is understood through what God says about you in His Word and how do you choose to live today?
I encourage you to choose to stop thinking and then acting the same way as everyone else. Make the decision to choose to memorise and live in the truth of God's Word. Live intentionally and with purpose as you become all God has made you through knowing, memorising and living the scriptures.
Who God is
1. YHWH who made and sustains all things
The starting point must be acknowledging God as not only the creator of all things but you! Live your life thanking God for all He has created and for the awesome God He is. Not only did Jesus create all things (John 1:1-3) but He knew of you before He created the earth and designed you with the skills you have, the family you were born into and the things He has made you for. (Ephesians 2:10)
16 For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. 17 And He is before all things, and in Him, all things consist. 18 And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the pre-eminence.
Colossians 1: 16-18
2. My Shepherd - Psalm 23
It is quite amusing that Jesus calls us sheep. He is our shepherd who cares for, protects and ensures that we have all we need. We are safe when call Him our shepherd.
23 The Lord is my shepherd;
I shall not want. Psalm 23 (NKJV)
3. My Father will provide all I need. Do you have needs? Financial, emotional, physical? God has promised that He will provide all that you need when you come to him with trust, thanksgiving and learn to rely on Him to provide for you. He is an amazing father and just wants to bless you and provide for you even more than any earthly father wants to . Learn to trust Him!
29 “And do not seek what you should eat or what you should drink, nor have an anxious mind. 30 For all these things the nations of the world seek after, and your Father knows that you need these things. 31 But seek the kingdom of God, and all these things[a] shall be added to you. Luke 12:29-31 (NKJV)
4. Jesus is sitting at the right hand in the position in all power.
When we understand that after Jesus was raised from the dead, God placed him at the right hand of the Father. When He is at the right hand of God, Jesus is in a position of all authority. Start praying for the impossible!
55 But he, being full of the Holy Spirit, gazed into heaven and saw the glory of God,
and Jesus standing at the right hand of God,
Acts 7:55 (NKJV)
What My Identity Is
1. When Jesus made me, He said I was created not 'good' but 'Very Good"
Stop talking about yourself from Satan's perspective. See yourself as God sees you. When He made you He said you were VERY GOOD! Thank God for the way He made you and who you are!
31 Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good. So the evening and the morning were the sixth day.
Genesis 1:31
2. I was fearfully and wonderfully made.
God is an amazing creator. In Psalm 139 we read about the way He knitted or put us together in our mother's womb! What a beautiful picture. Praise Him for the way He made you. You are fearfully and wonderfully made!
I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
Marvellous are Your works,
Psalm 139:14
3. You created me for a relationship with You, and when in this relationship I have been made to do specific things today that you planned for me before the foundation of the world.
It is easy to get caught up in the excitement of doing things for God. When you understand, though, that God created the world so we could develop a relationship with Him, then our idea of what doing these good works changes. As we have been created for an ETERNAL relationship with God, it is this relationship that we will take to eternity with us, not our good works. Grow in intimacy with God and learn to do the good works with Jesus. He wants to develop a relationship with you as you both work together.
10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works,
which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
Ephesians 2:10 (NKJV)
4. I choose to be a tree of righteousness today and to live under Your blessing as I fully trust in You so You may be glorified.
I love the passage in Jeremiah that talks about us growing into trees of righteousness. I desire to first get my roots deep into the ground so I can access the Word and Spirit no matter what the season. He is also growing me so my foundation is Jesus. As I do this, no matter the season or how tough the conditions above the ground, the deep roots allow me to have green leaves and to bear fruit to feed others.
5 Thus says the Lord: “Cursed is the man who trusts in man And makes flesh his strength, Whose heart departs from the Lord. Jeremiah 17:5
7 “Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, And whose hope is the Lord. 8 For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, Which spreads out its roots by the river, And will not fear[b] when heat comes; But its leaf will be green, And will not be anxious in the year of drought, Nor will cease from yielding fruit.
Jeremiah 17:7.
What I choose to do today.
1. To walk as a son/daughter of God.
I am not a slave or a servant but a son/daughter of God. I choose to walk as a son of God today, in the authority You have given me as a son. I choose to be led by the Spirit and not to give in to my flesh. I choose to hear Your voice and obey you and trust You in all things.
14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.
Romans 8:14 (NKJV)
2. To walk in the Spirit.
I will walk today being led by the Spirit and not walking in the flesh. Today I choose to walk in no condemnation. I will not be distracted by my flesh but connect with God each morning and be in tune with what the Spirit is telling me all day.
8 There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus,
who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit
Romans 8:1
3. To walk with power, love and a sound mind.
I will not have a spirit of fear, but to live with power, love and a sound mind. Any time I feel fear I choose to confess, acknowledge who You are and who I am in you and walk as a Son of God with Your Spirit of power, love and a sound mind.
For God has not given us (ME) a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
2 Timothy 1:7 (NKJV)
4. To listen only to the voice that brings life.
I choose to listen to the voice of Jesus and to have life in Him. I choose to reject any words both spoken and in my head that is not bringing life to myself and others.
The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy.
I have come that they may have life and that they may have it more abundantly.
John 10:10 (NKJV)
5. To live my life totally in the Kingdom of God.
I choose to be established in and live in the Kingdom of God. I ask You to show me what is happening today through Your eyes, so I see things through the Kingdom of God eyes which is my spiritual eyes and not through the kingdom of this world eyes. Today you HAVE delivered me from the power of darkness and HAVE placed me in the Kingdom of Jesus. This is where I choose to live!
He has delivered us (Me) from the power of darkness and
conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, Colossians 1:13
for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking,
but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. Romans 14:17 (NKJV)
6. To build up everyone around me in love.
I choose to walk in unity and to speak in a way that builds up the body of Christ. Every conversation will be one that builds the other person up and released them into functioning in the Body of Christ where you have made them to operate. I choose to walk entirely in love.
16 from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supply,
according to the effective working by which every part does its share,
causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love. Ephesians 4:16
7. To be successful today in Your strength and not my own.
I can do everything You have given me in the strength You give me! I acknowledge that you will place me in situations that look impossible, but You will strengthen me and give me all I need to get through and be successful in anything You give me to do today.
13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13 (NKJV)
8. To guard my thoughts.
I am aware that my mind constantly wanders off and thinks about things that are not healthy or of Your kingdom. I choose to be vigilant and guard my thoughts, and when the wrong thoughts come into my mind I will reject them and think of true, noble, just, pure, lovely and praiseworthy things.
8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. Philippians 4:8 (NKJV)
9. Not to be under the power of anything
The world wants me to turn to other things to meet my needs. When I do, they become addictions, and I start to turn to these things whenever I struggle. Today I choose not to come under any of these things, but to turn to You when I am struggling, and I will trust You to meet my every need. Social media, alcohol, pornography, TV, YouTube, food etc....... All these things I reject and I come to You alone. No more addictions!
12 All things are lawful for me, but all things are not helpful. All things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any. 1 Corinthians 6:12 (NKJV)
Today is the first day of the rest of your life. Choose to walk in life, victory and wholeness and trust the one who created you. See in the Spirit and then walk as an obedient child of God in the Spirit. God wants today to be a great adventure as you walk in an intimate relationship with the one who created you. Jesus is so please you are choosing Him today!
